1. What we do. Mercy Corps focuses on four main issues that help communities in 40+ countries around the world thrive.

Food Security. We work to ensure that people are well-nourished, with access to safe, nutritious, and sustainable food. Water Security. We work to help people access and afford clean, safe, and reliable water to meet their everyday needs. Economic Opportunity. We provide education and resources that help people, especially women and youth, to improve their job skills and income-earning potential. Peacebuilding. We partner with communities to decrease conflict, improve safety, and build solutions for long-term peace.

2. How we do it. Mercy Corps considers five key factors to approach our work on food security, water security, economic opportunity, and peacebuilding. Which of these factors is most important to you? (Choose one.)

Climate aware. We embrace the urgency of the global climate emergency to help people cope, adapt, and thrive in the face of climate change. Locally led. Around the world, we partner with local leaders who understand their communities’ needs and priorities. Evidence driven. We use data-driven research to improve the positive impacts, effectiveness, and growth of our programs. Diverse and inclusive. We work alongside diverse groups to help underrepresented people be seen, heard, and to foster meaningful participation in decisions that affect their lives. Innovative and creative. We offer our experience and expertise while trusting and encouraging local changemakers to create, test, and improve new solutions to the world’s toughest challenges.

3. What’s your “why?” Which statement best explains why you support Mercy Corps’ mission? (Choose one.)

I believe it’s important to engage and employ local people to strengthen their own communities. I trust the expertise of Mercy Corps’ global team members to carry out their work. Mercy Corps’ work providing long-term solutions is as essential as their immediate emergency response. I know my donation will be used wisely. I think the best way to tackle global challenges is through new ideas and smart partnerships. I’m interested in the humanitarian legacy that I will leave behind in the world. I believe everyone has the right to build a safe, healthy life.
